Want to work at a Techstars company? These 9 are hiring

Do you want to work at a Techstars company? Of course you do.

Techstars, and the companies that complete their 13 week program, are the cream of the startup crop. Collectively they’ve raised over $1.3 billion and the program has an acceptance rate below one percent — even Harvard accepts 5.9 percent of applicants. Getting into Techstars makes getting into Harvard look like getting into the University of Arizona.

Here are nine jobs from companies that graduated from the Techstars program in the last two years. All the companies are young, aggressive and going places. Land a job at any of these and you’ll be going places too. Check them out:

Software Engineer at

Located in a perfect spot downtown, Alloy HQ is in the midst of all that NYC has to offer with endless lunch spots, things to do, and plenty of happy hour options. We're a 3-minute walk from Union Sq, a central hub for convenient commutes.

What they do: Alloy has an API that collects and manages customer data from a multitude of sources. They use that data to help financial services companies (and others) to onboard customers and avoid fraud.

What you’d do: You’d be designing an API that pulls data from multiple sources and displays it in a meaningful way. You’d be writing mostly Node.js code.

Who they’re looking for: Someone with at least two years of real-world experience that can design APIs.

Why you want to work there: You’d be the sixth person on a fast growing team — the company’s first hire outside of the founders. It’s a great opportunity to join a team that’s going places at a very early stage.

Special Projects Manager at

While we have currently transitioned to remote work, we continue to keep our vibrant culture alive and our customer focus stronger than ever!

What they do: Bluecore works with e-commerce marketers to make personalized, triggered emails. They make emails that dynamically change based on a customer’s behavior. The computers are learning...

What you’d do: You’d be in charge of finding and testing new products and potential revenue streams for the company.

Who they’re looking for: Someone with at least four years of experience. They’re particularly interested in candidates that have founder experience.

Why you want to work there: Their offices are super-laid back, and you’re free to dress as sharply— or not — as you choose. You'll get a fitness stipend, a brand new Macbook, and the company will give you free breakfast and lunch. We didn't ask, but it's possible you may be able to negotiate for a pair of awesome Bluecore Converse as a signing bonus.

Graphic Artist and Illustrator Intern at

What they do: Hullabalu is a media and entertainment company. They made the world’s first story app, Pan: The Fearless Beribolt.

What you’d do: You’d be working with their creative and product team making artwork.

Who they’re looking for: Someone with a bachelors in a subject like art that has experience with animation software like Adobe Flash, Adobe After Effects or Toon Boom.

Why you want to work there: First off, how cool would it be to intern at a place called Hullabalu? This is a three to four month, full-time internship at a fast growing New York company — you'll be hard pressed to find an internship that offers more real world experience or resume cache.

Mobile Game Engineer at

We're on 18th street between 5th and 6th Avenue. Which means we're both easy to get to and around a lot of great food and drinks.

What they do: LiveLike uses virtual reality to make sports watching as real as a live game, without having to leave your couch.

What you’d do: You’ll be building interfaces and interaction systems for their live streaming front-end.

Who they’re looking for: A sports fan that is proficient in C#, C++, or Java and has experience using SDKs and RESTful APIs.

Why you want to work there: Sure, you'll look silly wearing virtual reality glasses at work, but it won't matter because you'll be far off in a better, more virtual world. Besides, virtual reality is about to be HUGE, and this is an opportunity to be in at the beginning. It'd be like being one of the first employees at ESPN.

Senior Full Stack Developer at

What they do: Seeds takes proceeds from microtransactions made in apps and games, and puts them into interest-bearing micro loans to companies in the third world. Users are still buying Canadough, but the proceeds go to a good cause.

What you’d do: You’d be doing what full stack developers do — write code. You’d also be learning new technologies as necessary and helping the company shape their technological future.

Who they’re looking for: Someone with experience writing and maintaining good, clean code that wants to do good in the world.

Why you want to work there: Not only is Seeds’ for-profit social good model brilliant, they’re willing to share. Whoever gets this position also gets as much as 4.9% equity and a decent salary.

Head of Marketing at

What they do: Sketchfab is where you publish and find 3D content. Think of it kind of like YouTube for the soon-to-be 3D virtual world.

What you’d do: You’d be in charge of all of their marketing efforts. It’d be your job to expand the company’s community of 3D creators and get more people to look at what they share. Your job is getting people’s attention.

Who they’re looking for: A creative person with a passion for user generated content, a get things done attitude, and at least five years of experience.

Why you want to work there: You’ll be helping to build the next generation of YouTube and you’ll probably have access to some amazing virtual reality content. Can you imagine how awesome Tosh.o will be in VR?

Director of Coaching and Training at

What they do: Story2 coaches students through their college admissions essays. So far they’ve taught over 25,000 students how to write amazing essays, with 90 percent of those getting into at least one of their top school choices. Another 83 percent ended up receiving financial aid.

What you’d do: You’d oversee all aspects of the company’s coaching initiatives. That means you’d be in charge of budgeting and financial forecasting for coaching services, as well as finding and bringing on new coaches, etc.

Who they’re looking for: Someone with a bachelor degree and at least five years of experience developing and managing teams.

Why you want to work there: Because you’ll be in charge of an amazing and proven team that’s only going to grow. Getting into college isn’t getting any easier, after all.

Digital Content and Marketing Specialist at

What they do: StyleSage is the ‘Bloomberg of fashion.’ They strategically analyze data to provide fashion retailers with insights into their local and global markets. Yup, the geeks are taking over the fashion world.

What you’d do: You’d be in charge of developing, implementing and analyzing online content and marketing campaigns aimed at generating leads.

Who they’re looking for: Someone that thrives working autonomously and can be trusted to take on a major part of the company’s business strategy.

Why you want to work there: Because how cool would it be if you were in some way responsible for Derelicte to become the fashion of summer 2016? Even if Zoolander inspired fashion doesn't take off, you'll still always know what's going to be hot before everyone else.

Business Development Manager at

What they do: UniqueSound runs a platform for sound creatives to show their work and get hired. It’s a marketplace where composers, sound designers and others can be found by big brands, advertisers and directors.

What you’d do: You’d be their sales guru. Your primary responsibility would be to find new business opportunities and manage the deals from offer until close. Sell, baby sell.

Who they’re looking for: Someone with at least three years of sales/business development experience with contacts at studios, ad agencies, production companies and TV networks. They want someone who knows people.

Why you want to work there: The company is super-young, having been created just a year ago, but has already grown into an eight person team. They also have offices in Paris, so maybe there’s be a chance to travel.
