Post CES Mini-Expo and ARt Show, January 17th at 6 p.m.

Couldn’t make it to CES this year? No worries, you live in NYC and someone was bound to bring the best parts of the event to you. Another Reality is going to be showcasing and bringing some of the hardware they came across when they visited Las Vegas last week.

Why D3? Data Visualization with D3 Demo, January 17th at 6:30 p.m.

Why should you be using D3? I’m not the person to ask, but Paul Buffa, Principal Data Visualization Engineer at Capital One is, and he’s going to be around on Tuesday to tell you. In addition to Buffa’s presentation, there’ll be time to network, and drinks and pizza will be served.

The Candid Cannabis Entrepreneur, January 18th at 6:30 p.m.

If you want to meet the faces behind the rapidly growing legal cannabis industry, this event is for you. The Candid Entrepreneur series featured unfiltered accounts of the startup experience and their next event will feature 3 cannabis entrepreneurs. We’re guessing the DEA is not invited.

The Future of Interfacing the Body, January 19th at 6:10 p.m.

It’s really only a matter of time before the Internet of Things becomes the Internet of Humans. This lecture from OpenBCI about the future of tech interfacing with the body isn’t quite that terrifying. The event will cover how anyone with a computer will soon be able to sample the electrical activity of their bodies. That has a lot of important and exciting implications for humans' health and longevity.

Global Game Jam, January 20th at 7 p.m.

Microsoft and Playcrafting are getting together to host a weekend of game making, talks, workshops and prizes. The event is taking place in Microsoft’s offices in Times Square and is beginner friendly.

That's it for this week. Check out the events page for a full listing of everything happening in NYC tech.
