5 NYC tech events you can't miss this week

NY TechDay 2017, April 18 at 10:00 a.m.

NY TechDay is one of New York’s largest tech events, featuring over 500 startups, 20 accelerators a live demo stage and 35,000 people. This year’s event will be held at Pier 94 — the Built In NYC team hopes to see you there!

Disrupting Trends in Data Science: How to Thrive in the AI Ecosystem, April 18 at 7:00 p.m.

This event will feature PayPal’s VP of Enterprise Data Services Alex Picos, who will discuss how business intelligence and machine learning technologies will alter strategies and execution in business. Picos leads PayPal’s global data technology organization, which aims to provide PayPal executives and businesses that use PayPal with rich data products and services to inform business decisions.

Your First 10 Hires: How to Think About HR at a Startup, April 19 at 6:30 p.m.

Hosted by Stacklist, this event will feature the founders of FORTE, Museum Hack and Roomi. Throughout the evening, founders will share insights from their startups early days, covering how to handle payroll, HR suites, culture, goal management, internal communication and employee feedback.

LMHQ Presents The ROI of Investing in Employees with Greenhouse, April 20 at 6:00 p.m.

This is an interactive event at LMHQ where you’ll hear from Melanie Oberman, Director of Employee Experience at Greenhouse, about how their People team uses the concept of Employee Lifetime Value (ELTV) to measure the ROI of things like hiring, onboarding, talent management, employee development, and culture initiatives for their company. Afterwards, you’ll be able to break out into groups to discuss actionable ways the ELTV can be applied at your organization.

Built In Brews at Yotpo, April 20 at 7:00 p.m.

For the third installment of Built In Brews, we’re hosting a happy hour at Yotpo’s office in the Flatiron District. At the event, you’ll get an inside look at what it’s like to work at Yotpo, as well as an opportunity to mingle with fellow members of the tech community. Food and drinks will be served!
