Built In Brews at Stash, Aug. 24 at 6 p.m.

It’s time for Built In Brews! This month, it’s hosted by Stash, the fintech startup that makes investments easy. You’ll get an inside look at one of the hottest tech offices in the city and network with likeminded professionals. Bring your friends and stop by for tasty apps, games and a whiskey tasting with Kings County Distillery!

Intro to Web Concepts, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m.

Attend this event if you’re new to the web or want to improve the way you communicate with your web team. You’ll review the fundamentals of web development in an instructor-led class, and learn things like which tools you need to build a website, the difference between a client and a server and more. All you need is a laptop, an ID and a willingness to learn.

Flatiron Students Present: Technical Talks, Aug. 22 at 6:15 p.m.

If you’re interested in the Flatiron School and want to learn more about how it can benefit you, come to this event. You’ll hear straight from students from the school’s web development program. Each will present for five-10 minutes on a technical topic of their choosing. This is a great way for employers to meet budding developers with innovative ideas.

Exploring VR for the Entertainment Industry, Aug. 22 at 6 p.m.

Virtual reality is sweeping the tech industry, and professionals in entertainment are exploring ways to incorporate it in their storytelling. Attend this event to join a discussion on VR best practices in the movie business. You’ll hear from Ilya Polokhin, founder of Hubneo VR Lab, during the first half, and then experience VR cinematic content in a group-cinema style in the second half.

AI in Healthcare: Ethics & Law With HealthTech Women, Aug. 23 at 6:30 p.m.

Artificial intelligence has the ability to improve and streamline the process of providing personalized healthcare. Attend to understand the way this will affect ethics and risk assessment in healthcare, as explained by leaders with experience in the space. You’ll get to network, listen to presentations and ask all of your questions in a Q&A session at the end.
