BetterCloud, voted Crain's Best Place to Work 2015 and 2016, is looking for a highly motivated Accountant to join our rapidly growing team. We are looking for an individual who wants to roll-up their sleeves and make an immediate impact on our organization. This role will give you the chance to problem solve alongside our finance team, sales organization and C-level executives.

Responsibilities

• Help manage day-to-day billing and collection, including processing customer and partner invoices, payments, and answering billing inquiries
• Review and support all revenue recognition disclosures in company financials
• Maintain monthly revenue accounting close efforts for assigned areas, including assurance of accurate and timely results and preparation of auditable revenue and deferred revenue account reconciliation
• Review sales contracts for proper revenue recognition
• Support external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility and help develop/refine revenue accounting processes and procedures
• Work closely with the Sales, Customer Success, and Sales Operations teams to address internal billing inquiries and troubleshoot billing matters
• Perform month-end account reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts, including but not limited to revenue, deferred revenue and deferred commissions
• Play a key role in helping to streamline, automate, and continuously improve processes and internal controls as we build out our financial systems to support our growth
• Assist with implementation of new financials systems, train relevant team members and help resolve technical problems
• Preparation of ad hoc and routine reporting as needed

Qualifications | Required

• Bachelor’s degree required, in Finance/Accounting a plus
• 2+ years of accounting or related experience is required
• Month end close process exposure a plus
• Excellent communication skills
• Very detail-oriented and highly organized
• Creative thinker and problem solver, proven analytical skills
• Highly motivated, professional and hard working

Qualifications | Recommended

• Experience with Zuora, NetSuite, Salesforce, Expensify and Zendesk a plus
