Accounting Intern
Position Overview
The Accounting Intern will work closely with both the general accounting team and the Accounts Payable associate. As part of a small team you will play an integral and visible role in a constantly growing and evolving Accounting & Finance department. You will work closely with all members of the Accounting team and report directly to the Senior Accountant.
Specifically you will…
- Administer the Expensify expense reimbursement platform and process all out of pocket and corporate card reports while ensuring compliance with internal corporate policies, and tax regulations
- Direct the new vendor setup and current vendor maintenance with 3rd party processor to ensure accurate setup and documentation
- Oversee the expense accrual process as part of ME close
- Perform monthly reconciliation of Goods Received not Vouchered account
- Assist in invoice entry including high touch invoices and FX conversions
- Maintain ERP FX rates
- Administer NYS Use Tax accrual process
Skill Requirements
- College Senior, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Will consider Finance and Economics majors.
- Mac OS proficient, with PC proficiency for Excel, Word, and general ledger systems (JDE preferred)
- Detail oriented and organized
- Flexible with job assignments
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Able to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Passion and excitement to work in a startup environment
