Seeking an internet marketing ninja to join our growing SEO and Social Media team!Bankrate is looking for a hands-on, get stuff done, organic marketing professional who can bring a strong quantitative/analytical approach to our audience growth efforts. Ideally, the candidate has several years of in-house SEO and/or social media experience. The candidate must have a very strong data and web analytics background and understand how websites work and how traffic is generated. This means knowing basic HTML/CSS, how programming works in general, and how websites generate revenue. The candidate must be a team player as this role entails working across many groups throughout the firm.

Specific job functions include:
  • Provides website recommendations that drive SEO and social goals and ensure strong presence
  • Use the data sets we currently possess and assess other data collection methods to perform competitive analysis, benchmarking, and reporting. Monitors and measures search positioning for Bankrate and competitors
  • Collaborates with content, product, and creative teams to refine and execute SEO, social, and other organic marketing recommendations
  • Analyze and report data from various sources such as Omniture, Google Analytics, Facebook Analytics to provide recommendations on audience growth
  • Recommends content approaches by conducting keyword research for content 
  • Keeps pace with SEO, social media, and internet marketing industry trends
 
 Job Requirements and Experience:

  • Experience implementing SEO and/or social for sites with substantial organic traffic a major plus
  • Advanced Adobe SiteCatalyst or Google Analytics experience a must
  • Advanced Excel and/or data analysis skills a must (SQL or R proficiency a plus)
  • Programming languages (Python, Ruby, PHP, etc.) a major plus
  • Solid technical understanding of web technologies, including search/web/internet protocols
  • Understanding of basic HTML, CSS and code structure as it relates to SEO 
  • Knowledge of SEO reporting tools such as Bright Edge, Google Console, AuthorityLabs, SEMRush, Moz, SpyFu, Raven, etc. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail with a strong focus on analytics 
  • Ability to translate analytic insights into actionable recommendations that improve natural search efforts 
  • Both agency/consulting or in-house experience considered
  • Bachelor's degree
