Description:

This is an opportunity to build an Android team from scratch and make a big splash in mobile across Learnvest and Northwestern Mutual. Mobile for us is much more than a buzzword. We're rethinking core things about our business and what it should become in a mobile experience. We're tackling big problems like changing user behavior, personal financial literacy and data syncing. If you get excited by seemingly impossible problems, we should talk. 

We’re a distributed team of engineers working solely on mobile products and looking for someone who can come onboard and quickly grow a team of Android developers. We are looking to you to bring knowledge and skill so we can disrupt the mobile space for LearnVest and Northwestern Mutual. 

Requirements:

• You are a talented mobile developer, with innovative and well-received apps in the Google Play store that showcase your skills.
• You know how to lead others and grow a team of talented engineers.
• You possess a deep knowledge of Android gained through years of actual experience.
• You’ve found dozens of quirks with Fragments, and have managed to work around them.
• You've grown up with Android's growing pains (i.e. general fragmentation, Action Bar, notifications services).
• Expertise in developing/testing/deploying/releasing native Android applications
• Experience refactoring code and evolving architectures
• Experience crafting automated unit, integration, functional, and regression tests for Android
• Experience and understanding of a variety of mobile platforms and toolsets that support continuous delivery
• The ability to judge and recommend appropriate platform choices given context about a particular application
• Full lifecycle experience from conceptualization, development to deployment of mobile apps
• Familiarity with multiple programming paradigms and be open to learning new ones
• Techniques such as test-driven development and continuous integration
• You’re a self-starter and effortless communicator who cares more about solving problems than being right.
• You have an excellent command of written and spoken English.
• You love delighting users with subtle animations and details.
• Passion and technical curiosity 
• Plus: You have an eye for design and user experience.
