THE INTERNSHIP

We are looking for a social media minded graphic designer Intern to assist our Audience Development team during the summer months. You’ll learn the unique role that graphic design plays in social-first content, and can translate editorial into beautiful, inspiring social media imagery for Pinterest, Facebook Twitter and Instagram. The perfect candidate must possess the energy and desire to work in a fast-paced environment and the confidence to uphold the integrity of SheKnows standards.

This is an amazing opportunity to learn what audience development means in the publishing space as part of a central team that works across brands. You’ll learn the ins and outs of graphic design in the publishing and social media space.

Your day-to-day work will support the identification, ideation, planning and creation of social media design work with objectives ranging from increasing traffic, engagement and overall brand awareness.

Supporting the Director of Social Media, you will collaborate with the social media managers and the editorial team to ideate and create social media graphics.

Job performance evaluation will focus on quality of graphics for each social media channel. You must love to learn & always seek to improve as you conduct design research & discover new social media graphic opportunities.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Ideate, plan and create quality graphics for SheKnows Media brand social media channels, including Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Collaborate with the social media managers and editorial team using tools like Google Analytics, Sprinklr and Crowdtangle to identify editorial content to design imagery for social media channels
  • Research and monitor competitors’ social media design efforts
  • Deliver measurement and reporting of social media design results with data from various sources

What you’ll learn:

Social Media Optimization

  • Receive training on various social media reporting and publishing tools
  • How to best optimize editorial content for social media imagery

Audience Analytics

  • Receive training to pull and interpret reporting from Google Analytics Premium

Overall

  • Attend weekly Audience Development team meetings with stakeholders in NYC and Scottsdale, AZ
  • Participate in various social media and editorial meetings

THE FINE PRINT

  • Must be a student currently enrolled in a degree seeking program and able to receive college credit for internship hours
  • Background in marketing, graphic design or related field is preferred
  • Possess solid communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to juggle numerous projects at once
  • Strong organization and deadline management skills
  • Proficient in Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and/or other graphic design tools
  • Be a team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude
