Kickstarter’s core mission is to help people bring creative projects to life. Our Brand team works to help project this mission to the world. Now, we’re looking for a great Producer-Editor to join us. In this role, you’ll collaborate with disciplines across Kickstarter to help communicate our brand to the world creatively; and have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of the creative community at large.

This is mid-level position, working full-time out of our beautiful office in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and will report into the Brand Creative Director. 


Your primary responsibility will be seeing the creation of original film and photo content for the Kickstarter brand through from beginning to end.

This includes:

  • Editing short-form content that will be used by the Kickstarter brand across our product and social platforms.
  • Producing both film and video shoots that will occur at Kickstarter headquarters, events, and on-location with Creators, among other sites.
  • Collaborating with members of the Brand team to facilitate the production of all brand content that helps project our mission to the world at large.
  • Working across the Kickstarter organization to ensure smooth communication and workflow between the Brand team and any other Kickstarter project stakeholders.
  • Organizing both internal and external resources; sourcing equipment, locations, and talent; and project managing film and photo production, pre-production, and post-production.
  • Helping us bring us our brand to life in an engaging and creative way.

Our ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Has minimum three years experience of film and photo production experience and film editorial experience, ideally having worked with brands.
  • Can demonstrate strong technical skills with regards to current editing and project management software.
  • Can demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  • Can collaborate and communicate effectively with multiple vendors and stakeholders.
  • Brings an extensive rolodex of trusted vendors and access to more.
  • Is a decisive leader who enjoys solving problems with limited resources.
  • Can adapt their editorial style to channel specific reference and direction.
  • Is willing to travel.
  • Is excited about helping to establish a brand story for a global creative company.
  • Believes in the importance of creativity.
