About the Role
Common recently opened its first 100+ unit building. Looking for an experienced building super, excited about creating a new category of accommodation and changing the way that people live together. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of building management at this site. This is a job for someone who enjoys tackling new problems, and is excited about delivering excellent service for our members.
  • Responsibilities
  • Run the day to day operation of Common’s flagship 100+ unit building
  • Ongoing management of 2 porters and an army of third party contractors dedicated to keeping this building in top condition
  • Prioritize and manage maintenance requests and keep tickets up to date
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and perform routine maintenance on facilities and equipment
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Schedule, oversee, and assist assigned contractors ensuring the safety, quality, and cleanliness of work performed
  • Provide and maintain accurate record keeping of all maintenance requests
  • Implement preventative maintenance plan to ensure all building systems are well maintained and conform to building code and other regulations
  • Qualifications
  • 5 - 7 years of residential maintenance experience working in a position maintaining large buildings including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC
  • Experience with a “lease-up” and taking over a building from construction
  • Previous roles should have included some management of facility staff
  • Self-starter able to work independently with limited supervision
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Strong attention to detail; organized, methodical approach to execution
  • Ability to plan resource requirements as well as build basic forecasts a plus
  • Good working knowledge of technology especially google suite of tools (drive, calendars etc), able to adapt easily to new tools and ways of working
