Boxed is currently looking for a strategic, collaborative and passionate Category Buyer to join our team. Ideally suited to working well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment the Category Buyer will be responsible for assortment, financial performance, merchandising, pricing and collaborating with cross-functional partners to support account performance.

You Will:
  • Own and deliver category financial targets (GMV, margin, trade and all-in gross profit)
  • Manage new & existing vendor partnerships including onboarding, cost negotiations, marketing plans and annual business planning
  • Own the development and evolution of the category strategy
  • Collaborate with marketing and merchandisers to develop and grow vendor marketing opportunities and demand creation plans
  • Continually evolve product assortment based on category strategy
  • Identify strategic buying opportunities with existing vendors
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Conduct other tasks expected:
    • Forecasting to maximize sales and profits
    • Negotiation
    • PO handling
    • Delivery and payment monitoring
Requirements: 
  • Passion for merchandising and eCommerce
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant professional experience within an e-commerce, retail merchandising, category management or business development capacity
  • Ability to build a data-driven strategic business plan with tangible execution steps
  • Ability to manage category P&L and open-to-buy plans
  • Demonstrated ability to form and develop long-term strategic business relationships with vendor partners
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Experience in the CPG industry and specific category merchandising experience is a plus
  • Ability to travel 3-5 days per month
