Content Marketing Manager
- Write. Copiously. Write to help beginners make sense of the learn-to-code landscape. Teach them how the internet works, the difference between a frontend and a backend, or the trade offs when building for web vs. mobile. Write about the future of work, and how coding will change the way we do our jobs. Write about how Codecademy is changing the world, and speak with the heart and passion that we feel – capturing hearts and minds.
- Become and remain intimately aware of the discussions and zeitgeist around coding, technology, and education so that we can quickly contribute Codecademy's voice to those conversations as they happen. Grow to understand our users, their desires, thoughts, and questions, so that we can effectively help them.
- Craft integrated marketing campaigns. Write narratives that are contrarian, remarkable, irreverent, or cheeky.
- Take campaigns from idea to launch: developing the associated evidence - whether that be alumni stories, user data, or even a new scholarship program.
- Jointly manage social media along with Codecademy’s community manager.
- Own Codecademy’s content strategy.
- Contribute to Codecademy’s brand strategy, along with head of marketing, head of design, and CEO.
- Work closely with Codecademy’s PR agency, and potentially manage the agency relationship as you grow in the role.
- First and foremost, a gifted and creative writer.
- For all roles at Codecademy, but particularly for this role, a passion for learning to code is required. Expect to become an expert on pros and cons of Angular vs. React, Ruby vs. Python, and iOS vs. Android.
- 3 years of consumer marketing experience in content marketing or communications.
- A strategic thinker who can study and then articulate the contours of a market landscape and describe how each brand in that landscape is positioned.
- A track record of thought-leadership, creativity, and provocative thinking.
- Copywriter extraordinaire.
- Versed in qualitative and quantitative research methods (focus groups, in-depth interviews, conjoint analyses).
- Experience launching marketing campaigns involving partner organizations that garnered media attention.
