Creative Project Manager at Away

Away is looking for a fast-paced, creative, and organized individual to manage projects and introduce innovative processes in a high-performance environment. The Creative Project Manager will be responsible for managing and defining detailed project plans for complex digital and offline campaigns as well as creative needs for product launches. This includes working with internal business owners (including product development, marketing, e-commerce, editorial and more), external vendors, and the internal creative team to ensure all creative executions are managed and completed appropriately while supporting the company’s business objectives.

The right candidate is excited to be an early employee at a recently-launched, venture-backed lifestyle brand and is eager to take on a wide array of responsibilities. This position is based out of our headquarters in Noho, New York City.

What you'll do:

  • Manage timelines for all creative projects and assignment of projects to design, copy, and production.
  • Responsible for efficient communication between business owners and all project stakeholders, including internal team and external vendors.
  • Organize and facilitate project planning, weekly meetings, and presentations.
  • Define and maintain budgets and true workload capacity; assign resources according to applicable skills, workload balance, and project scope.
  • Maintain an on-time and orderly creative workflow, holding individuals accountable to milestones and agreements.
  • Develop and refine systems and processes for continual improvement of creative workflow and file management.
  • Manage creative feedback and approval process at various stages of asset development.
  • Uphold creative integrity when working with outside vendors. Review contracts, provide feedback, and negotiate with vendors, from creative agencies and production companies to photographers and stylists.

Who you are:

  • 2-4 years of experience managing complex creative projects with multiple stakeholders; ideally both in both agency and in-house environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability explain complicated initiatives in a way a wide array of people can understand, including both creatives and business owners.
  • Strong command of the creative process in both the traditional and digital space, including web, broadcast media, print, and packaging (pre-production, production, post-production).
  • Experience with project management tools (Asana, Trello, Basecamp, etc.) required.
  • Exceptional planning skills with a natural ability to hold yourself accountable to timelines and budgets.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or Sketch a plus.
  • Love to travel (but that's a given).
