As a Creative Strategist, you will work in Mic’s in-house branded content studio, Vantage, to ideate on and package proactive and reactive pitches. Ideal candidates will know how to coordinate across multiple teams to leverage brand and market insights, big-picture thinking and storytelling in order to develop a cohesive vision for creative campaigns that fit both the brand’s voice and Mic’s.

Candidates should be familiar with working within budget recommendations and never afraid to ask “why” or to defend your creative vision. You must have a deep understanding of the media landscape, digital advertising, social distribution, web culture and of course, memes.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support Mic’s sales team through the pre-sale process on proactive and reactive sales proposals
  • Help lead interdepartmental brainstorms and package those ideas into pitches that are rooted in brand insights and Mic’s storytelling
  • Handle vetting concepts and solutions through appropriate channels
  • Attend client meetings in partnership with Sales, serving as the Creative/Branded Content expert, presenting creative ideas while receiving feedback firsthand and adjusting ideas accordingly
  • Create new content formats and creative products, maximizing revenue potential through progressive digital advertising solutions
  • Be an expert in the field of past, present and future campaigns both internally at Mic and across the market

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a creative field; creative strategy or copywriting experience preferred
  • Strong background in branded or editorial content
  • A deep understanding of the digital and advertising landscape
  • Proven knowledge of video, social media & influencer landscape, digital platforms and native advertising campaigns
  • Proven understanding of Mic’s voice
  • Ability to think outside the box and develop creative executions that combine brand voice with Mic’s for a truly unique, authentic ad experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Proven skills in problem-solving, organization, attention to detail and priority setting
  • Ability to lead meetings and present information both internally and to clients
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • A passion for creativity; the creative drive to develop rich, dynamic, and exceptionally effective advertising strategies
  • Excellent computer skills — proficient with Keynote, MS PowerPoint, Word and Photoshop
