Knotch is a marketing intelligence company that enables CMOs to understand how their marketing efforts are impacting their audiences emotionally across every content distribution channel or geography in real time. Marketers use this unprecedented, real-time intelligence to optimize the creative and distribution of their marketing. We're based in New York and our client verticals include financial institutions, entertainment, and CPG.

A bit about the Data Science Team…

We’re a small team right now, so we’re looking for a teammate with a breadth of skills and a passion for learning. From ensuring data fidelity in our pipelines to building out full product features, and from preparing internal reports to giving polished client presentations, our ideal team member enjoys doing it all. In a typical day you may find yourself building out a deep net to classify web content, debugging a data discrepancy in our pipeline, or working with our Customer Success team on a custom analysis for a client. So, yeah, as our ideal team member, you’re as comfortable writing a simple SQL query to pull descriptive stats and making a beautiful bar chart as you are implementing a deep neural network, and you’d love to do both.

We’re not as concerned with the exact set of technologies with which you have experience or where you went to school --- we’re looking for smart, talented, people who love solving problems.

Ideally,

• You are conversant in a wide variety of mathematical areas and proficient in numerous data science techniques. In addition, you are able to quickly fill in your knowledge gaps as the need arises.
• You are a proficient programmer, and are excited to engineer production systems. We are language agnostic, but Python is a plus.
• You embrace simplicity and understand that not every problem requires machine learning, but you can bust out a ResNet when you need to.
• You are skeptical of every analysis you come across, including your own.
• Big Data or Small Data, you obsess about finding the story in the data, and can fluidly communicate complex analyses to technical and non-technical audiences.
• You can quickly adapt to changing priorities and are comfortable operating in situations where problems may lack definition.
• You care about products and approach solutions with a user-first mentality.
• You love collaboratively solving problems and work well in a team environment.
• You are kind, empathetic, and egoless.
