The Role:

If you love automation, tools, and infrastructure, then we are looking for you. We have an opening for a devOps engineer, who will help us improve our AWS infrastructure setup, fine-tune external tools we rely on, improve our deployment pipelines, and other tasks to improve effectiveness and efficiency across engineering department. As a devOps engineer, you will be the bridge between our product development and its operational concerns

Responsibilities

Completely own the Rocketrip hosting environment. From deployments to scalability to security and monitoring.
Deployment automation. We ship daily and you'll own constantly improving our tools to support this workflow.
Cloud system availability and health.
System performance monitoring and alerting services architecture.
Engineering tooling. While part of the deployment process, engineers are generally needy. Support a variety of initiatives related to data processing, testing automation, deployments and performance testing.

Requirements

At least 3-5 years experience in a DevOps role.
Strong background with Linux administration.
Experience with operations concerns of managing servers. You have good understanding of memory, networking, etc.
You're security obsessed and know how to deploy solutions in a secure manner.
Experience with bash scripting and Python programming.
Understanding of web services and databases.
Comprehensive understanding of Amazon Web Services - EC2, S3, OpsWorks.
Experience with logging, monitoring and alerts systems like DATADOG, Loggly, Sumo Logic, etc.
Experience with configuration management tools like Chef, Vagrant.
Experience with deployment automation systems like Docker.
