Job descriptionThe Director, Benefits Products will be responsible leading our best-in-class Benefits team and driving forward the Justworks mission of providing enterprise level benefits to SMBs. The Justworks Benefits team is a cross functional team made up of operations, business development, and product development. The Director will have a strong product management background and will maintain our Benefits products vision. He or she will ensure our benefits offerings continue to be a core differentiator in the market, while also managing our operational and financial processes in support of the products. The Justworks Benefits platform currently includes health insurance, 401(k), health advocacy, supplemental insurances (STD, LTD, Life insurance, AD&D), and various perks.
Responsibilities include:- Define a Benefits product and management strategy that supports Justworks’ overall growth and product vision
- Manage and build strategic relationships with benefits providers - including Aetna, Metlife, and others. Understand the current state and future of the employee benefits ecosystem and develop partnerships accordingly
- Develop business cases for new products and services within the Benefits Platform
- Craft future Benefits Platform expansion strategy to match overall company market expansion plans
- Oversee the execution of the product life cycle including strategy, development, launch, and maintenance of Benefits products
- Manage Benefits revenue streams and overall P&L. Partner with Finance team to define and manage accounting and reconciliation processes for all benefits
- Advise team members and refine pricing and underwriting strategy for all Benefits products
- Lead Product and Operations managers’ efforts in defining the product and operations roadmap
- Manage and lead the Benefits Platform team, including other managers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Finance, Compliance, etc.
- Represent the Benefits Platform externally to customers, partners, and investment community
- Interface with the Senior Management team to pitch and prioritize projects
- 8-10 years of experience in benefits industry, with experience in product strategy, product management, new product development, and/or business development
- Strong ability to synthesize and communicate market and customer feedback as well as existing and new products into solutions for customers
- Proven analytical skills, with the ability to summarize and present findings clearly and concisely, SQL experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas and influence executive leadership
- Creative and curious thinker able to identify emerging business and cultural trends relevant to Justworks’ target audience
- Experience with P&L management a plus
