About the Role

JOOR is looking for a strategic, collaborative, and passionate candidate to lead its Data Analytics Team in our New York, NY office. The ideal candidate will be a highly analytical problem solver that gets excited about working with data in all capacities. Beyond just analytics, this role requires strong strategic and business acumen and a deep understanding of how the Data Team fits into and helps fuel JOOR's value proposition.

Our Mission: Become the most efficient + advanced data processing and analytics service in the wholesale industry, making JOOR the clearinghouse for wholesale style, image, and UPC data.

What will you do?

Performance

  • Establish a strong vision, agenda, and continuously refined set of priorities for our analytics team.
  • Lead the creation of data-driven frameworks and analyses to inform critical business decisions
  • Guide the development of revenue generating products including reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance of our products
  • Ongoing analysis to improve customer performance, customer experience and customer dynamics on the platform

People

  • Work with our teams to recommend the best analytic approaches and set the standard of excellence for conducting, packaging, and reporting requently used analyses and data sets.
  • Manage relationships with third-party analytics companies and other vendors, and work with them to commission joint studies, thought-leadership pieces, and other sales enablement tools

Process

  • Identify The Critical Data-related Challenges Our Business Faces, And Drive To Solve Them
  • Identifying improvements to internal team workflows, specifically, establishing metrics and reporting to manage outcomes and creating analytical tools to improve these workflows
  • Lead qualitative and quantitative research projects from hypothesis formation to delivering findings recommendations to stakeholders.

Who are You?

  • Data Science experience for 5+ years
  • Experience managing people and teams
  • Experience with other advanced analytical methods – Pandas, NumPi SciPi, Python, Hadoop, and/or Spark
  • Strong Excel and SQL skills are a must
  • ETL Experience
  • Interest in solving real-world business problems
  • Flexible, collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Creative and quick thinking can lead to a solution in hours rather than days
  • A champ at managing time-sensitive projects and competing priorities simultaneously
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit
  • BA/BS degree
  • MBA, Masters, or Phd degrees welcome
  • Proven ability to lead multiple teams across various offices
  • 6-10 years of relevant professional experience within an analytics, strategy, consulting, or finance capacity
