Overview:

LearnVest is seeking a Director of FP & A and Financial Reporting to own and drive all aspects of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage LearnVest’s annual budgeting process, coordinating with executives and functional leaders across the organization
  • Own a consolidated financial model and run periodic re-forecasts throughout the year based on changing scenarios, with a comprehensive understanding of revenue drivers and projects and associated resource needs across the company
  • Oversee accurate and relevant monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement preparation, including full variance analyses
  • Work with finance leaders at Northwestern Mutual to align financial & KPI reporting between organizations
  • Communicate spend by department and project monthly to functional leaders to understand variances and ensure spending remains on plan
  • Assist in the development, tracking and reporting of operational and financial metrics
  • Support VP of Finance and other members of the executive team with quantitative analysis for day to day decision making, as well as the preparation of materials for executive meetings

Skills/Requirements:

  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant work experience in advanced analytical roles such as FP & A, corporate finance, operational budget management, accounting, investment banking, transaction advisory or other quantitative consulting
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills a must, with expertise in financial modeling and analytics
  • BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other quantitative areas of study, Masters degree / MBA or CPA a plus
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and financial reporting
  • Extreme attention to detail, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment
  • Comfort and experience presenting to senior management using exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a high-growth technology company a must
  • Proactive communicator with excellent verbal and written skills, who is capable of building strong relationships with colleagues
