Director of Implementation

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technical manager to grow the team that leads pre- and post-sales onboarding of our distributed developers. As Director of our team of Implementation Specialists, you will both manage and contribute to the team that facilitates two key duties, pivotal to the success of both our African developers and the global clients they work with:

  1. Pre-sales support to gather prospective clients’ technical product requirements, designing Andela’s optimal collaboration arrangements. The information gathered during this stage will allow your peers in our African campuses to match the right developers to the opportunity at hand. This team is also responsible for vetting prospects to guarantee that we are only working with clients that align with Andela’s values, capacity, and vision.
  2. Launch and nurture the first, critical weeks of engagement between our clients and distributed Andela engineers. Onboarding and managing distributed developers is a nuanced process—the Implementation Specialists will help integrate engineers into clients’ communication tools, software development processes, and team culture, setting them up for success for months and years to come.

The Director of Implementation will therefore set the tone for all client-fellow relationships and their ongoing technical success. S/he will manage multiple engagements at once, transitioning responsibility between the New Business and Account Management teams once the client and fellow establish a comfortable rapport.

While all of our Implementation Specialists work intimately with the Sales team to facilitate these interactions, this Director of Implementation will also need to use existing processes to manage the team of experienced Implementation Specialists. Responsibilities specifically for the Director include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage workflows and allocate client-specialist pairings based on experience, style, etc.
  • Hire/train new implementation specialists to meet demand as the org and client base grows
  • Regular 1:1 sessions with each Implementation Specialist to encourage and guide their growth
  • Gather client and fellow feedback to share with US Sales staff and Technical Coordinators in Africa
  • Report to Chief Information Officer, who also manages internal Learning and Technology teams
  • Act as point person for interdepartmental collaboration or cross-functional initiatives, optimizing existing processes and removing blockers as we continue to grow
