The Job

Gimlet Media is looking for a Director of Marketing for Gimlet Creative, to lead our sales marketing efforts and establish GC as the leader in modern audio marketing. The right candidate for this job is a creative, strategic, and analytic thinker.

This person has a passion helping our clients find their voice in audio. They take our ambitious, creative ideas and translate them into brand objectives for our clients. They have big ideas, and also love using data to communicate why our approach to audio advertising will move the needle for our client’s business. This position will report to the VP of Marketing.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the strategy and development of all client facing materials. You’ll be able to clearly articulate how ideas should come to life to our designer and marketing managers. This includes, but is not limited to, packaging new Gimlet shows, RFP submissions, general presentations, wrap reports, and new product launch materials.
  • Lead a team of marketing managers who handle pre and post sale client communications. Strong writing is essential. You will act as quality control on all idea write-ups before they are sent out.
  • Work closely with the sales team to come up with big ideas for partners across the Gimlet network of shows, events, and new multiplatform opportunities.
  • Stay informed and current on podcast industry trends and competitive executions, and communicate those trends to the sales and Gimlet Creative teams
  • Fully understand the Gimlet Creative production process in order to accurately articulate their capabilities to prospective and current clients in meetings/pitches

What You Have

  • 6+ years of experience working in a creative client facing marketing role with proven, measurable success
  • Experience working with both creative and sales teams
  • Excellent writing skills;- you know how to tell a clear story
  • Clear communication skills, and strong intuition about how others will receive your ideas
  • Polished and confident presentation skills
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across multi disciplinary team
  • Ability to create the conditions where your team shows high attention to detail in all aspects of their work
  • Demonstrated service mentality in a client-facing role
  • Team Player. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are willing to jump in and get your hands dirty when needed.
  • Love of podcasts is a bonus!

This is a full time role, based in our Brooklyn, NY offices.
