Establish, grow and lead the Product Marketing team at CB Insights.

In the last 15 years, over 50% of the Fortune 500 has turned over. With the emergence of technologies that include artificial intelligence, augmented / virtual reality and many others, the pace of disruptive innovation is only increasing. And no vertical is immune. Major brands within financial services, consumer packaged goods, life sciences, auto and even food have suffered “death by a thousand cuts” as venture-backed startups chip away at once-robust and well-insulated business models.

Enter CB Insights: a SaaS platform that empowers Fortune 500 executives to identify emerging trends and threats early by ingesting & analyzing massive amounts of unstructured data beyond human cognition.

CB Insights is seeking a Director of Product Marketing to oversee development of our company’s product positioning for corporate innovation and strategy teams across numerous verticals within the Fortune 500. This professional is a strategic thinker that possesses high intellectual horsepower and a bias towards execution. Understanding the needs of corporate innovation and strategy teams are critical to success. Previous experience to corporate strategy and innovation via operating experience or strategy consulting (McKinsey or the like) is required.

The Director of Product Marketing is a highly visible leadership position.

Key 90-day goals:

  • Define a robust set of buyer personas that will allow for alignment of customer understanding and communication across the organization
  • Map those buyer personas to CB Insights product, including our SaaS platform, tailored research and events
  • Develop collateral to educate our internal team as well as prospects and customers on our products

Responsibilities you will own to achieve the above (and beyond):

  • Lead, grow and nurture a top talent team of product marketers
  • Build subject matter expertise across a range of verticals re: how emerging technologies are disrupting established Fortune 500 business models
  • Articulate the needs and pain points of innovation professionals at Fortune 500 companies via a wide spectrum of media including decks, blog posts and video
  • Partner with sales enablement to build certification programs and train our business development teams
  • Conduct interviews and conversations with customers en route to launching a Customer Advisory Board
  • Establish and track customer adoption metrics
  • Coordinate new product launch activities across all departments
  • Stay informed on competitive products within the marketplace and educate product leadership team on the landscape

Preferred experience and qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience including some combination of time spent in: 1) enterprise SaaS product marketing, 2) top tier consulting firm (McKinsey or equivalent) and/or 3) Fortune 500 corporate innovation team
  • Experience managing teams of 3+ professionals
  • Expert copywriting skills
  • Impeccable communication and interpersonal skills
  • MBA from a top tier business school preferred
  • Fintech experience a plus since it’s our largest vertical
  • Familiarity with graphic design / video platforms a plus
  • Self-starter, entrepreneurial with hands on approach
  • Helpful, Hungry, Happy, Humble
