Job Summary:
Dealertrack is currently looking for a Director of Engineering with 10+ years of experience, at least 5 years managing and leading software development teams. The Director will lead multiple software engineering scrum teams to build shared F&I platform capabilities and services, including hybrid mobile solution, reporting analytics, API management, DevOps improvement, etc. These capabilities will facilitate overall product delivery by identifying and solving common concerns across multiple F&I functional engineering teams.
The role is responsible for creating a high-performing software engineering organization, cultivating an Agile delivery culture and partnering closely with Engineering leadership and key stakeholders to establish a technology strategy and execute on its initiatives. The ideal candidate has a track record of successfully leading a large engineering organization in delivering enterprise-scale or commercial-grade software products and solutions, while demonstrating relentless pursue of continuous talent and organizational improvement.
Your Role:
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of relationships with key stakeholders including engineering, product management and external partners.
- Drives continual organizational improvement to help Cox Automotive achieve financial and strategic goals.
- Provides input to the executive leadership team in terms of strategic decision making, budgets, hiring, process changes, etc.
- Builds a positive working environment and culture of learning. Ensures the program team’s overall morale and productivity continually improve.
- Communicates, through action, a clear vision of philosophy, goals and objectives and gathers and incorporates feedback from the direct and indirect methods to ensure a clear understanding of expectations is achieved.
- Acts as executive-level escalation contact for technical and partner issues, representing the company and customer needs professionally, while supporting and championing his/her staff.
- Works with key stakeholders to prioritize work based on several variables including: value-add, ROI potential, and impact on technical resources.
- Ensures that team organization, individual development, and communication are in line with Engineering’s vision. Builds Scrum and leadership teams that perform at a high level. Fosters inter-team collaboration and productivity.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree is recommended and a Master’s degree in related field is desired
- 10+ years of experience, at least 5 years managing and leading software development teams.
