We know there is a massive opportunity to enhance our brand, drive new revenue and access new data if someone smart and aggressive developed a strategy and ultimately executed a plan to lead our strategic alliances and partnerships efforts.

Keys to Success

Beyond the 4 Hs of CB Insights (happy, helpful, humble and hungry), the ideal Director will be

  • Creative - There are hundreds of potential partnerships/alliances we could strike. The director will have a knack for seeing opportunities.
  • Analytical and have extreme clarity of thinking - With opportunities identified, the Director will then prioritize/determine which are worth pursuing after understanding the impact, effort, cost and other relevant factors. They will also measure their efficacy afterward.
  • Energetic & Convincing - In verbal and written communications/presentations, the Director will be able to highlight the value to partners that working with CB Insights can bring to them.
  • Able to execute - This is not a “strategy” role full of pontification. After you’ve identified the right partners and convinced them of the value of partnering with CB Insights, you will need to execute upon the partners

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop an overall vision, strategy, and execution plan for partnerships & alliances
  • Manage the full life cycle of partnerships and alliances doing everything from identifying, qualifying, analyzing, presenting, negotiating, and closing
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maximize value of partnerships
  • Use analytical tools and data analysis to drive decisions to grow partnerships, identify new areas of opportunity and demonstrate business impact to internal and external stakeholders.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Must have experience in partnerships/alliances at a mid-stage tech or SaaS startup before
  • 5 or more years in a partnering-related role
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally with partners, customers, and internal cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Product & Engineering
  • Comfort with building strong relationships at all levels of the partner organization
  • Proven ability to generate six-figure revenue through alliance partnerships
  • Experience developing joint value propositions along with GTM strategies for partners
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, determine project urgency and execute detailed action plans
  • Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player with an upbeat and assertive personality
  • Excellent work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast moving environment
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation abilities
  • Strong public speaking and phone/web presentation skills
  • Goal-oriented and data-driven
  • Prior management leadership experience is a plus
