The Editorial team is a small collaborative group that understands how to write, shape, and edit high quality journalism while putting it in theSkimm’s distinct voice. The team thrives in fast-paced environments, knowing that everyday is different and brings new and exciting opportunities to help Skimm’rs live smarter lives.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

As theSkimm’s Editorial Assistant, you will be working closely with the Editorial team on tasks big and small. You will wear many hats while supporting the team as it develops content for theSkimm's entire product suite. Responsibilities include...

• Answering reader emails, preparing WordPress for Daily Skimm publishing, and supporting the team in tasks related to the day-to-day delivery of our products.
• Conducting editorial research for a variety of Skimm products including Skimm Notes, Skimm Ahead, and social media postings. .
• Fact checking content for theSkimm’s entire suite of products
• Contributing to the Daily Skimm pitch meeting
• Keeping the Skimm Guides library up to date

WHAT WOULD SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS

• A track record of working effectively under short deadlines and in high pressure environments.
• Being a self-starter AND a team player who goes above and beyond to get the job done.
• Comfort and experience working in WordPress.
• An acute attention to detail and dedication to accuracy.
• PA or internship experience at a media company or major news network
• Bachelors Degree in Journalism or Communications preferred
