Engineering Manager, iOS
Meetup is looking for an Engineering Manager to guide a team of iOS engineers. With nearly 30 million members, across 182 countries, it's a thrilling time for us. Our engineers get to craft code and solve problems enabling people to do more of what they love to do while making Meetup even better for the mobile world. We recently launched redesigned apps for iOS and Android built from the ground up with Swift and Material Design principals. Every single day, people around the world are meeting up and exploring life because of the code we build! People run marathons, thanks to running Meetups. They write, thanks to writing Meetups. They change their careers, thanks to career Meetups. Because at Meetups, people welcome each other. They connect, help, mentor, and support each other all in pursuit of moving their lives forward.
If you're an engineer who loves to mentor and manage other engineers, has a strong background and experience in shipping consumer apps people love, and has ideas on how to innovate and improve the way people Meetup, this is the job for you.
As a Manager at Meetup, you will be part of the engineering leadership team.
You should have:
- Deep experience as an iOS software engineer and 3+ years' experience mentoring and/or managing engineers in technical and non-technical areas
- A strong vision to focus on managing people, as well as developing and managing career growth plans with engineers
- Confidence in allocating and optimizing engineering resources for product teams, and the ability to instill focus on the most important things for both the engineers and the company
- Experience leading recruitment efforts, motivating engineers to participate in the tech community, as well as a passionate interest in being the face of Meetup culture for their team
- The equanimity to pinch hit with code or peer reviews when engineers are called away, the vision to see what needs doing, and the pragmatism to break that down into smaller chunks for others
Our team is ambitious, supportive, and above all - we are excited by what we do. While meeting regular deadlines and being focused on quick, quality shipping of software - the environment is relaxed and fun.
