Event Marketing Manager
As events play an increasingly strategic role in our customer acquisition and brand awareness programs, we’re looking for a dedicated Event Marketing Manager to own and grow this function. The Events Manager will budget, plan, execute, and measure success of all company events globally, including trade shows, sponsorships, and owned events, notably our annual JW Insights conference.
The ideal candidate knows the ins and outs of trade show exhibiting (How do we make the most of our investment? Yay or nay on the popcorn machine?), knows how to find a killer venue in NYC, LA or London, and has a geeky side that will dig helping our data scientists pitch a conference speaking slot. You’re a great communicator across all levels of the organization, you find creative ways to plan a stand-out party while staying on budget, and you LOVE getting a good a deal.
The Event Marketing Manager will join a collaborative marketing team, working closely with product marketing, digital strategy, marketing operations, and PR colleagues to build brand awareness, drive customer acquisition and help our sales team to strengthen relationships with clients.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage events calendar and run day-to-day planning for all events
- Develop work-back plans and facilitate clear communication around action items
- Research and evaluate new event opportunities aligned with company objectives
- Research and identify vendors and negotiate contracts
- Research and order swag and signage
- Collaborate with designer, marketing automation specialist and web developer to set up and optimize event outreach emails and registration sites
- Attend key events and make sure that everything goes smoothly, applying creative problem-solving to resolve any on-site issues (some travel required)
- Ensure that we’re capturing and tracking all leads and getting the most out of every event
- Oversee and track event budgets, expenses, and ROI while suggesting cost saving opportunities
- Produce event recaps with key learnings and recommendations for next time
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in B2B event marketing, ideally in the media/ads technology space
- Experience managing both trade show presence and custom owned events
- Strong negotiation skills and strategies
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues across departments (sales, product, finance, execs) and keep the team on schedule for relevant deliverables and approvals
- Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- An eye for quality and the drive to achieve it
- Positive can-do attitude
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
