The job - Events CoordinatorThe Events Coordinator, New Markets, will be responsible for establishing and expanding Justworks events and PR presence in our newest markets, DC and Boston. You will have your finger on the pulse of the small business, startup, and tech communities there, reporting into our Events & PR Manager to build out an events and PR strategy that supports Justworks’ overall marketing plan. This position requires frequent travel and prior knowledge of either or both markets is a plus. This is an exciting opportunity to serve as an ambassador for Justworks while driving the success of our expansion into new markets.
What you'll do- Source, organize, and plan all sponsored events
- Own, organize, order and delivery for swag budget and inventory for Justworks
- Coordinate all regional logistics prior to sponsored events, including new swag design and delivery, team schedule, and invoice payment
- Attend Justworks sponsored events, overseeing setup, breakdown and organization of exhibitor booths, if necessary
- With Events Manager and Sales team, assist in setting up Salesforce and Splash campaigns, creating invitations for regional events, and insuring that all event reporting is properly executed
- Assist Events Manager in execution and coordination of owned events in new markets, including referral dinners and program, happy hours, Justwomen, and other new series
- Identify local organizations to partner and support, sourcing speaking and sponsorship opportunities for the Justworks team
- With Social Media Manager, assist in creating social content that showcases DC-area events, customers, and causes and work to identify and develop relationships with local influencers and brands
- Work to identify local tone of new markets, establishing a plan for and media buy for print, OOH, and digital media
- Be the eyes and ears for Justworks in our new markets; includes reading local publications, assisting PR agency in reaching out to local reporters, bloggers, and news organizations to promote Justworks events and general expansion
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 2-3 years of experience working in event planning
- You are highly organized and self-motivated
- You have your finger on the pulse of tech, startup, and small business events and speaking opportunities
- You work well under pressure and are able to meet deadlines
- You have experience managing teams of outside vendors at events
- You’re comfortable juggling multiple projects and prioritizing work for yourself and others
- You’ve had experience with PR and communications.
- You’re passionate about helping small business grow and connect with each other through events and other marketing experiences
- Willingness to jump into projects with a can-do, no-job-is-too-small attitude
- You’re a connector; you thrive when you’re meeting new people and introducing them to your network
- You’re not afraid to go to an event by yourself or speak on a panel
