We are looking for a detail-oriented, passionate, and driven Finance Manager to join our Agent Finance group, part of the fast-paced expanding Accounting & Finance team. Managing your growing Agent Finance team and reporting to the Controller, you will assume full ownership of the revenue recognition and commission disbursement processes across all of our regional offices. You will develop and implement payment systems that will help us scale our operations and better serve our growing agent team across all regions. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the day-to-day operations of the revenue generation and commissions disbursement processes. You will build relationships and will play an important role in facilitating smooth execution of revenue-generating operations for the whole company.

At Compass You Will

  • Assume responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of recorded revenue and commission payouts
  • Oversee a team that handles all transaction-related activity, such as processing signed contracts, closing transactions in the system, issuing commission payments, processing referrals, and handling agent issues and requests
  • Collaborate on company-level financial reporting
  • Create processes and procedures to increase efficiency, speed, and quality of monthly revenue recognition
  • Ensure that proper controls are operating effectively, and work with the rest of the finance team to drive improvements
  • Build relationships with regional managers and work with them to efficiently and accurately prepare, verify, and process commission disbursements
  • Set regional revenue targets during budgeting, and track production vs budgeting with variance explanations
  • Develop and execute strategies for streamlining of the commission disbursement process in New York City and across all regions (24 offices nationwide and growing)
  • Spearhead initiatives to improve the experience for our agents by evaluating the effectiveness of current financial practices
  • Generate and explain monthly production reports for sales managers across all regions and offices

What We're Looking For

  • BS degree in business (or related field) with strong academic record
  • 5+ years in accounting-adjacent function
  • Strong problem resolution skills
  • Experience managing a team
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, and impeccable attention to detail
  • Self-starter, positive attitude, and ability to problem-solve with minimal supervision
  • Excited to work in a high-paced growing environment
  • Prior experience in or familiarity with real estate or similar commission-based sales organization a plus
