We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Away team! In this role you will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on key financial performance metrics to senior leadership across the company to drive strategic decision making across the company. The role will be part past analysis (reviewing monthly close, preparing financial statements and assessing key areas of improvement for future months) and part strategic planning (building financial models from the ground up to assess the financial viability of campaigns and initiatives across the company) to ensure that all decisions made across the company are supported by thorough financial analysis. The Financial Analyst will report to the head of FP&A.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Maintain detailed financial models and forecasts to support short-term and long-term strategic planning
- Direct efforts to analyze and interpret actual financial performance vs. plan
- Review monthly accounting close and prepare and analyze monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statement
- Develop key highlights/KPIs to drive business performance and track growth initiatives
- Generate ad hoc financial analysis, reports and presentations for executives
- Facilitate improved reporting and communication of goals / performance throughout the organization
- Support the annual budgeting process, working with department heads and senior leadership to develop comprehensive budget by department for the following fiscal year
WHO YOU ARE:
- 2-3 years professional experience, including direct experience in investment banking, FP&A or management consulting
- Strong excel and financial modeling skills a must!
- Understanding of accounting principles and fundamentals of financial statement analysis
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced and energetic environment
- Eager to learn and take on new and varied responsibilities
