Thrillist means fun. We're eaters, drinkers, travelers, and doers. We serve the curious and believe that new experiences are what drive the richest lives. We bring our passion, expertise, and taste to bear on the things that are truly worth your time and money. Life is for living, and that’s why we’re here. Today will be great.

Thrillist is looking for a supremely energetic Video Host in New York City to shoot a pilot for short-form video series. The right person has a passion for finding unexpectedly cheap, surprisingly delicious, and downright amazing food, from under-the-radar pizzas, to $1 dumplings, to a pile of candy bars you’ve melted down and reconstituted into one mega-bar. The right person is someone that loves a challenge and loves eating. The right candidate wakes up in the middle of the night thinking about soup dumplings, has their next 12 trips mapped out, has never met a dish not worth trying -- and nurses an unstoppable desire to turn all those things and more into a video that excites a huge audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside staff writers, editors and video team to create incredibly watchable, shareable, and exciting short-form digital video
  • Have a deeply passionate understanding of the NYC food scene
  • Be able to solve problems incredibly quickly and creatively
  • Be natural and highly likeable on camera, even by people who are jerks
  • Have an eye for finding deals
  • Master the Thrillist voice and tone, and infuse all videos with the feeling of fun that we stand for
  • Immerse yourself in data around the videos you and others -- both on the team and at other publishers -- are making, and use that to guide smart decision-making for future videos
  • Familiarity with operating DSLR cameras, GoPros, getting amazing footage from phones and other accompanying equipment
  • Provide a better day for everyone who watches what we create

Qualifications:

  • Relevant hosting and producing experience at either a media company, network, or on a school project
  • Work well in a team as well as on your own
  • Be able to juggle multiple responsibilities at once
  • Be open to constructive criticism from peers and strive to make best-in-class content
  • Deep understanding of the Thrillist brand and lifestyle
  • Familiarity with Premiere and Adobe Creative Suite programs
