Front End Designer/Developer for Education
This job is for a front-end/UX designer/developer who can turn a legacy collaborative learning environment into an modern, easy-to-use user experience. We are working with Sakai, a system used by students at many larger universities. Sakai is over 10 years old, and written in Java and an array of front end technologies, including wickets and jquery. While Sakai is quite adequate functionally, our goal is to refine the user experience to make it easier to use for students, faculty and administrators. A strong plus will be familiarity with Learning Management Systems (of the sort used in K-12 schools or universities) and great user experience skills.
The candidate will need to both produce excellent responsive web pages and also be able to create a implementation that will pass muster in an open-source community. The candidate should...
