Some of our team are specialists, some have more generalist skills, but one thing our team does have in common is a broad understanding of how our system works and hangs together. Our developers work over a wide range of projects and have overall accountability for the success of the platform, and as such, take an active role in collaboration on a variety of requirements.

We are looking for enthusiastic technologists and the ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills, have the confidence to propose pragmatic solutions to complex problems, make decisions with minimal direction and be eager to learn from and educate others. As a front end engineer you will be developing and maintaining the multiple responsive websites and helping to shape our product as part of a rapidly growing disruptive start-up.

  • Working with developers, product managers, QA engineers, designers, system administrators and others to ensure features are delivered to a high standard
  • Test features for interoperability across different browsers and mobile devices
  • Keep a close eye on client-side performance concerns and be constantly looking for ways to make improvements
  • Contribute to development team working practices and technology decisions

Who we're looking for

  • Experience developing websites and web applications using best-practice HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Expert-level JavaScript, including experience with at least one client-side MVC library or framework (ReactJS, Vue.js, or AngularJS)
  • A good awareness of the benefits, uses and adoption of HTML5 technologies and APIs
  • Experience of integrating front-end code with RESTful APIs and web application frameworks
  • Knowledge of client-side performance issues and optimisation techniques
  • Thorough understanding of cross-browser feature support
  • Enthusiasm for the device-agnostic web
  • Experience with source control management (we use Git)
  • Basic experience of Unix command line
  • Highly proficient and productive with a strong desire to build high quality, robust applications that users love

Nice to have

  • Agile development practices
  • JavaScript test-driven development and unit testing
  • CSS pre-processors such as Sass or LESS
  • An understanding of user experience design approaches, patterns and techniques
  • A basic understanding of building and maintaining design systems
  • A desire to integrate the latest developments from CSS3/JS into existing codebases, keeping performance, usability and browser support in mind

What you get in return

Beyond working with such a great team?

  • An exciting environment with real growth
  • Contribute to exciting products used by a highly passionate user base
  • Personal learning and development opportunities
  • Unlimited vacation allowance
  • Commuter benefits
  • 100% coverage of health insurance premiums
  • Stock Options

There's more, but we don't want to go on and on.
