Come help evangelize the Stack Overflow story by supporting our marketing team. As a dedicated marketing developer, you’ll lead technical projects that shape and grow the Stack Overflow brand, and serve as a subject-matter expert on our developer community to our internal marketing team and to the world.  Some areas you’ll focus on:

  • Infrastructure Projects - Work on the technologies our marketing team and business need to succeed.  This could include optimizing lead generation tools, improving our campaign A/B testing and analytics infrastructure, or building open source tools that make campaign production lightning fast.

  • Campaign Production & Optimization - Ideate, build, and optimize viral landing pages, microsites, and technical content that drives signups, user engagement, and sales leads. This means working closely with designers, marketers, and even data scientists to quickly launch and test highly visible digital campaigns at scale.

  • Evangelism - We’d also love to get someone who is deeply passionate about the Stack Overflow mission who loves sharing their expertise and excitement with others. Internally, you’ll help calibrate our developer marketing campaigns. Externally, you’ll help represent Stack Overflow and be a go-to dev for appearing at events, creating technical content like blog posts and talks, and engaging with other developer communities.

As a marketing developer, you'll work primarily in our main stack of C#, ASP.NET, and MSSQL Server and interact with third-party tools and APIs like Hubspot and Salesforce. We don't expect you to know everything coming in, so we'll pair you with mentors who will help you learn and develop.

We want to hire the right person wherever you are in the world. If you’re in New York. Denver, or London (or you’re interested in relocating to one of our offices), you’ll enjoy some amazing amenities like private offices and free, catered lunch. If not, we’ll help you create your dream office at home, wherever that might be, complete with 30-inch monitors, motorized standing desks, and the best equipment available.

We expect to see:

  • Solid programming skills in your language of choice (not necessarily ours) and a track record of getting stuff done

  • Experience in any major web development stack (e.g. ASP.NET, Node.js, RoR, etc) and any major relational database (MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL). Experience in our stack (C# / ASP.NET MVC / SQL Server) is a plus, but not a requirement.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of modern HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

We like to see (but not required):

  • An active Stack Overflow profile, or other presence in the developer community evident through public artifacts: side projects, an active blog, open source, speaking engagements, etc.

  • A passion for front-end & design, and experience doing funnel optimization and A/B testing

  • An interest in working with many of our business teams, especially marketing, sales, and internal tools.
