The Marketing Operations team plays a critical role in defining and driving strategic, operational and organizational improvements for the Marketing Organization. Leading the Marketing Operations team you will quickly develop a broad understanding of how Marketing and Spotify operates, as well as the roles and interdependencies between teams. You will also gain deep insight into what is required for a company to scale marketing impact, both on a local and global level.

Summary:

We are looking for a Global Head of Marketing Operations who will lead a high-caliber team in optimizing the performance and effectiveness of Marketing at Spotify globally. You will work alongside other Marketing and Business leads, defining and evolving core business processes and operating models within Marketing. Key areas of responsibility include defining Marketing’s business priorities, business plan, and develop planning processes and driving agile campaign execution to achieve targets. In this role you will function as a key interface with operational functions across Spotify - working proactively to ensure alignment of priorities and operations between Marketing and other functions to drive real and sustainable impact.. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem solving skills are essential for this role. The role will be based in New York.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive the vision, strategy and roadmap for marketing operations as a global capability within marketing.
  • Lead development of functional budget planning and quarterly re-forecasts. Define and drive planning timelines and processes, collecting and consolidating input and plans from various marketing teams along the way.
  • Lead development of quarterly business and performance reviews across marketing efforts.
  • Drive continued development of Marketing’s Operational model and rhythm - spanning multi-market campaign operations to always-on activities.
  • Drive development of agile operational models, ensuring marketing activities are continuously informed and optimized based on data driven insights
  • Drive clarity of roles and responsibilities across teams in order to increase operational speed and agility.
  • Partner with operational functions across Spotify - working proactively to ensure alignment of priorities and operations between Marketing and other functions.
  • Develop the forums, processes and principles necessary to increase the speed and accuracy of decision making in Marketing.
  • Develop and drive communication tools and rhythm for Marketing Org. updates, directed at teams both within and outside of Marketing
  • Ensure functional learnings and operational best-practices are shared and leveraged
  • Ensure development of Marketing Business Bets, lead the Bet prioritization process, and support project management of Bets
  • Support Marketing functions with processes for budget, forecasting, procurement and vendor management
  • Lead a Marketing Operations team based in New York

Who you are:

  • You have a passion for agile scaled operations along with music, technology and marketing
  • 12+ years of experience in a top-tier management consulting firm, and/or in business operations/strategy at a top-tier tech company
  • Experienced working with Agile / Lean operating models especially agile marketing operations methodology
  • Excellent strategic, analytical, and leadership skills
  • Highly analytical and excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex
  • issues into structured frameworks and concrete action plans
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a global setting, defining business priorities and processes, and successfully implementing them
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate between strategic business decisions and their operational implications
  • Strong project management skills and experience leading complex multi-workstream initiatives
  • Team player, problem solver, fast learner, creative, fun attitude and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Experience in business modeling
