Refinery29 is looking for a self-starter who can report, write, and edit a variety of videos in the feminism, news, body-positive and trend space for our Strong Opinions Loosely Held video channel. This person will create 3 post-only assets a day: either text-on-screen videos, supercuts or social mini-docs geared for the FB feed. These are post-only assets meaning nothing is shot in the field.
Candidates must have:

• Desire to get work seen by millions of people
• Ability to get millions of views on content using best practices
• First hand experience creating content for social media/Facebook/digital
• An eye for catchy, shareable stories
• Strong researching, writing, and video editing skills
• Animation skills a plus
• A solid journalism background
• Ability work on tight deadlines
• Interest in entertainment, pop culture and award shows
• Ability to comment on live events quickly to generate memes and video clips
• Predict social and political trends before they happen.
• Interest in feminist art, activism, video and news content.

Multimedia, social media experience, and fact-checking experience a plus. 1 to 2 years of journalism, plus video editing experience, required.

Full-Time Freelance, 40 hours a week.
