Livestream is searching for an experienced engineer to lead our platform API team, stepping into a multi-disciplinary role that exercises both technical leadership and people management. This is an opportunity to build products for the premier live event company, where customers stream to millions of viewers every year, and the engineering challenges are diverse and deep.

A successful candidate will have extensive experience building and scaling web services, which will be brought to bear not only actively writing software, but also guiding and designing the entire team's output. Your deep expertise runs the gamut of web architecture, from various languages and frameworks to databases, message buses, caching services, cloud infrastructure, and more.

In addition, you have managed and mentored fellow developers, and understand what it takes to build high-functioning teams. Your process chops and project management skills will ensure that every member is shipping software and aligned towards the team's goals.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, and deploy web services.
• Manage and prioritize the team's backlog and day-to-day tasks
• Represent your team as a domain expert, weighing in on strategy
• Meet with members and provide performance feedback
• Guide best practices and keep software quality high
• Help us grow and serve as the hiring manager for your team

 Qualifications

• An extensive track record building successful web services
• Management acumen from leading effective teams
• Experience with growing team. Comfortable with interviewing and hiring new team members
• Great communication skills, both written and verbal
• Passion for software engineering and a penchant for testing
• Experience w/ Go, JavaScript, and Scala
• Solid devops exposure, including Google Cloud, AWS, Kubernetes, etc
