About our Engineering Team:

Our engineering team works on challenging product-oriented problems across the boundaries of e-commerce, mobile, analytics and shipping/fulfillment, and the backbone of our business is served by our custom logistics management system which is core to our capacity to deliver the right product to the right user at the right time. We utilize data, engineering and algorithms to create a personalized website and an adaptive supply chain to fulfill our commitment to an amazing customer experience.

Position Overview:

The Lead Test Automation Engineer will design and write automated programs for functional testing, integration testing, performance testing, and sanity testing. After test phases, the engineer will be responsible for monitoring results, defect logging, and validation of defect fixes. The Lead Test Automation Engineer will be responsible for creating a scalable and reusable automation framework that will be used by engineers across multiple teams.The Lead Test Automation Engineer will collaborate with both our customer-facing teams as well as our warehouse software teams. The systems we are building are relied upon by thousands of customers a day as well our entire warehouse operations team.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain a scalable testing infrastructure for our service oriented architecture
• Oversee the day to day activities of the software testing team and be fully responsible for testing of releases
• Ensuring that delivery adheres to testing standards, that all changes have sufficient test coverage, with documented test cases, and that those test cases are executed and defects fixed
• Own and improve test plans and automation tests
• Be involved in discussions with developers, QA analysts, business analysts and project managers and be responsible for progress/issue reporting
• Understand and review direct reports' performance 
• Ensure that all User Stories have well-documented User Acceptance Criteria, and that those tests are executed within the iteration cycle.
• Introduce new technologies related to automation

Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience developing and building software automation systems
• Experience as a team leader
• Highly proficient in Ruby, experience with Java is a big plus
• Hands-on experience building quality backend and frontend test automation software
• Excellent problem solving ability
• Strong understanding of REST design principles and the HTTP application protocol
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English
• Experience in testing complex systems and business flows
• Consistently able to see the overall big picture situation rather than only focus on details and specific tasks
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
