BuzzFeed Entertainment Group is looking for a driven, creative, and social media-savvy writer to join our lifestyle section. The ideal candidate is someone who's obsessed with the things people are sharing, liking, and talking about when it comes to lifestyle — especially when it comes to resourceful Food and DIY content. They will also be able to produce work quickly, experiment with lots of different content types, and be interested in analyzing the results of their work.

The position is full-time and can be based in our offices in either New York City or Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities:

• Write, edit, and produce lifestyle posts for BuzzFeed
• Make stuff that’s well-researched, service-oriented, and shareable
• Generate ideas for new formats, headlines, and post types
• Keep track of viral lifestyle trends on Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram and create content around them

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of website, magazine, or blogging/vlogging experience
• Proven understanding of the kinds of lifestyle content that generate engagement on social media platforms like Pinterest and Instagram
• Self-starter and hard worker with tons of smart ideas
• Be able to take the perspective of others
• The ability to be accessible, engaging, and appealing in your work
• Flexibility, an open mind, and enthusiasm about collaborating and experimenting with unconventional ideas
• Photography, graphic design, and/or video skills are a plus
