Mic is expanding its video production and is looking for a media & post-production manager to join the video team in the NYC office. The new team member will be responsible for standardizing and increasing efficiency of post-production processes across all of Mic video teams, as well as ensuring organized and searchable archiving of all video material – both raw and fully produced. The post-production manager will report to Mic’s Director of Studio & Technology.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Standardize and oversee all video post-production across multiple video teams at Mic
  • Development of efficient workflows for the entire post production process, from ingest to edit to export to archive
  • Maintenance of all Mic’s video data and assets, including ensuring proper backup and searchability through metadata tags
  • Coordination of different productions across multiple Mic video teams, liaising between directors, editors and producers
  • Work with the Director of Studio and Technology to future-proof the workflow and archival processes of the Mic Video team as it continues to expand
  • Research and develop new technology and systems to streamline efficiency and processes for all Mic video teams post workflow and delivery

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years in video editing/post-production, preferably in a supervisory role
  • Expert knowledge of post-production processes, including video, sound, and motion graphics editing
  • Familiarity with best practices in video archiving and metadata tagging
  • Process-oriented, extremely organized and self-motivated
  • Highly communicative and strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of up-to-date video production technology and systems, including live-streaming and 4K video
  • Meticulous and detail oriented, with success cases of being able to showcase best practices, workflow documents, and implementation in large teams

Bonus:

  • Experience overseeing production in a real-time breaking news environment
