NOOM MOBILE ENGINEER CO-OP JOB DESCRIPTION

Noom’s mobile applications combat chronic and pre-chronic conditions with structured programs and human coaches. Our scientifically proven behavior change programs take the uncertainty out of creating a healthier lifestyle, reliably delivering health outcomes, and we are tackling some of the biggest diseases out there (Type-II Diabetes, Obesity, and Hypertension to name a few). The mobile engineering team is at the forefront of this challenge, solving complex technical and UX problems on our mobile apps that center around habits, behavior, and lifestyle.

We are a mobile first company, and our engineers come with a strong understanding of mobile best practices, as well as how to create positive, impactful, and beautiful native app experiences. As a Mobile Engineering intern, you will be working on end-to-end feature development from design to execution on either Android or iOS (or both!), solving complex UX and technical challenges on our native apps that center around behavior, lifestyle, and habits.

Our Co-op/Intern Program has been an integral part of our engineering organization since the early days of Noom, and many of our alumni have built products and features still used today! Here are a few things you can expect:

• Impact: Not only will you get exposure to a fast-paced agile engineering culture, you will be making real impact on our mobile apps, and the individuals around the world who use our programs to get healthier!
• Mentorship: Be paired up with a team lead and mentor, and be a part of a highly diverse and talented team of product managers, mobile designers, UX researchers, and up to 4 engineers

What We’re Looking For:

• Currently obtaining a BS/MS degree in computer science or software engineering
• An interest in gaining exposure and solving complex mobile UX/UI problems, and a passion for delivering impactful, user-friendly, and beautiful mobile experiences
• Prior experience as a software engineering intern/co-op
• Strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and systems design
• Experience in C++, Java, Perl, PHP, or Python. Objective-C a major plus!
