Researcher/Writer

BuzzFeed is looking for a researcher and writer who knows how to approach clever hacks, lifestyle ideas, DIY projects and other smart living tutorials in an amusing and informed manner. As a member of BuzzFeed's Nifty team, you will be responsible for helping video producers discover and test new concepts and projects. If you're the type of person who's always watching Youtube tutorials, making things from scratch, trying weird hacks, or obsessively scrolling through Pinterest, we'd love to hear from you!

This position is based out of our NYC or LA office.

Responsibilities:

• Research, test, and pitch new ideas for Nifty videos
• Be plugged into the daily trending conversation on social platforms, and able to spot potential video ideas
• Be bursting with ideas on how to make hot trending short-form lifestyle videos
• Make Nifty a destination for the hottest, most viral how-to content on the web

Requirements:

• Background in research, writing, video or digital media
• Proven ability to track and understand viral traffic
• Video skills are a major plus
• A positive, curious, playful disposition
• Contacts in the online lifestyle community is a major plus
