theSkimm makes it easier to be smarter. We started as two friends on a couch and have since purchased more couches and gotten new friends, er... employees. Skimm HQ works hard but knows when to take breaks and when it's time to update the Spotify playlist. We drink the kool-aid but know we're drinking it. The sales team at theSkimm is a small group of experienced, resourceful, scrappy hustlers. We pull out all of the stops to get sh*t done. We’re seeking an energetic self-starter who is ready to jump in, think outside of the box, and get creative with partnership marketing and campaigns for audience growth, audience development, and distribution of custom audio and video content. theSkimm is for high performers who thrive off of seeing direct impact and response to their work.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

This is not your typical business development role. You’ll be working on creative marketing and business development strategies that seamlessly integrate into our platform. You will:

  • Drive, vet and negotiate new digital distribution opportunities for audio and video digital native content with distributors across multiple mediums through ongoing research and creative ideation of new projects.
  • Lead the partnership and deal process, skillfully managing each step from strategy, pipeline development, prospecting, outreach, contract terms negotiation, and closing.
  • Create programs and marketing plans that include native digital content, product development integration, and brand ambassador activations that enable theSkimm to grow and develop its current audience.
  • Work closely with various cross functional groups to create and execute new growth and mutual acquisition based partnerships and campaigns.
  • Mine research and member insights to develop brand platforms and consumer-friendly campaigns.
  • Leverage your previous experience by helping to define processes and efficiencies within the team

You will be a part of the Cash Money team and will work collaboratively to drive new business partnerships.

WHAT WILL SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS
  • 5+ years of business development and content distribution experience
  • 2+ years of partnership marketing experience
  • Deep understanding of trends in audio and video content
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.
  • Familiarity and enthusiasm for theSkimm: our products and the utility we offer to our audience
  • Results oriented with a desire to think outside the box. Creativity is a must!
  • Motivated by the idea of wearing many hats and working on a variety of projects
  • Meticulous and vigilant, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Problem solver; you don’t accept the status quo and are always looking for creative solutions
