Position Summary:

The Center Operations Lead functions as the senior office and operations leader for the BCG Digital Ventures (DV) New York (NY) center and serves as the "right hand" to the DV Partners providing management, thought partnership, advisory support and operational leverage in New York.

 

As the most senior member of the Venture Operations team in the office, the Center Operations Lead is expected to produce a smooth, day-to-day operation focused on service, excellence and business acumen, and to help build and reinforce a positive, close-knit office culture. They will be responsible for the general management of the office and for managing the office’s Operations and Venture Operations employees. The Center Operations Lead is also expected to assist in building a well-functioning and regionally aligned DV Center, helping to articulate and execute DV strategies in NY as appropriate.

The Center Operations Lead will:

  • Act as first point of contact and drive day-to-day Operations strategies for the New York Center.
  • Day to day management of administration support team. Delegating tasks and looking to assist in the growth and development of the team.
  • Management of multiple internal/external stakeholders including property management commercial vendors, IT and Security.
  • Liaise with DV Finance to ensure proper management of the DV NY office budget and communicate budget updates to staff in partnership with US Ops team.
  • Identify and mitigate risks by ensuring the NY Center has adequate systems/processes and procedures in place for budget, attrition, safety and ethics, etc.
  • Ownership of client/visitor and employee experience practices in the NY Center.
  • Organization of special events for both DV employees and with external partners including monthly staff happy hours, industry events, meet-ups and hackathons.

You will need:

  • 5+ years of work experience working directly with senior leadership teams in a professional services, start up or digital media environment.
  • Preferred three years team management experience of 3+ people.
  • Experience in a fast-paced multi stake-holder environment that is recognized for being a top employer and having best-in-class operations processes.
  • Undergraduate degree required; MBA or other professional degree preferred; or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of the EA/AA support functions and competencies as well as other ops roles is appreciated.
  • Proficiency in Windows Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Infrequent travel may be required; Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

  • Be flexible and responsive in responding to all constituents. Must show superior attention to detail and accuracy. Must demonstrate a self-starting attitude, be proactive and team player.
  • Have the ability to work independently exercising sound judgment, consistency and initiative.
  • Display strong service orientation in responding to customer needs; Possess excellent and confident oral and written communication skills.
