Post Production Specialist (NY)

BuzzFeed Motion Pictures is searching for an exceptional Post Production Generalist to own and oversee all technical aspects of post production, media, training and support for our New York Video Team. We run our own internal studio where we write, direct, and produce BuzzFeed video content. We are looking for smart, skilled, passionate self-starters to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Train and Provide Technical Support to Video Producers of all skillsets with Adobe Creative Cloud applications (including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects and Media Encoder) and video workflow
  • Facilitate Physical and Digital Media Requests (Hard Drives, CF/SD Cards, Project/Asset Requests, Archiving, File Transfers, etc)
  • Create and manage accounts related to stock resources, file servers and services and online platforms)
  • Act as SME for all things technical related to Video and Post Production Technology (Camera, Apps, Codecs/Formats, New Technology, etc)
  • Provide Technical Notes and Feedback on Rough and Final Cuts as needed
  • Work with Production and Video Producers to support Production Technology needs (Live Studio, Video Shoots, DIT)
  • Liaise with IT for all technology needs (hardware, software, workflow, systems, etc)
  • Other Post Production, Media and Technical duties as assigned
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY
  • Must have work authorization to work in the United States

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media, Information Technology or related field
  • 4+ years experience in post production or digital field
  • 4+ Years of Premiere Pro Experience (Editing, Media Management, Encoding)
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud apps including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Media Encoder and After Effects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Apps
  • Knowledge of digital media including codecs, image types, resolutions, frame rates
  • Working knowledge of Post Production processes
  • Knowledge of shared storage, file servers, file transfer platforms and MAMs/DAMs
  • Knowledge of digital media including codecs, image types, resolutions, frame rates
  • A patient and coaching demeanor for training new producers on editing software

  • Must have strong leadership and communication skills
  • Must have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with multiple moving parts
