About The Position

Raise is looking for a human-centric designer who has a passion for creating exceptional user experiences to participate in a large-scale redesign of both our internal tools and member-facing website. As a Product Designer, you will work within a cross-functional squad as part of the Raise Technology organization—solving problems alongside equally-invested engineers and data scientists, while taking ownership of experience design from the research stages through to prototyping, development and production. In this role, you will be expected to use your full range of product design, interaction design, IA/UX and visual design skills to help provide the most delightful and useful interfaces for Raise members and internal stakeholders alike.

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineers, data scientists, and other members of our design team (including UX researchers and content strategists) to understand and satisfy our members’ needs
  • Transform high-level direction into detailed artifacts, including multiple sets of wireframes, flows, prototypes, and other compositions that communicate your ideas with simple and refined interactions
  • Champion your point of view, both in design reviews and throughout the problem solving process, by using clear and customer-centric narratives derived from your own personal experience
  • Bring with you an expert understanding of structure, composition, typography, color theory, human-computer interaction, and modern practices for responsive, e-commerce design on the web
  • At the most basic level, design responsive web applications that empower real people to make the most of their money, through ideation, experimentation, realization and iteration

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in web and mobile user experience, interaction, and visual design for e-commerce, including familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar tools
  • A formal degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially the ability to clearly articulate design decisions and project status with business partners and team members
  • An ability to take initiative, be persistent, self-motivate and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A careful attention to detail and the ability to grasp complex, nuanced product requirements
  • An established familiarity with the capabilities and limitations of desktop browsers, mobile devices, and modern HTML/CSS/JS technologies
  • A passion for extraordinary user interfaces that surprise, delight, and solve real, human problems
  • A strong portfolio featuring design work that showcases your product design, interaction design, IA/UX, visual design and mobile/web design skills

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(K) with match, disability and life insurance
  • Competitive PTO
  • Raise Gives Back- 8 paid hours allotted annually for volunteer opportunities
  • Pre-tax commuter program
  • Paid parental leave
