When was the last time you were planning a business trip and really tried to save your company money? If your company allowed you to stay in a fancy hotel, would you ever volunteer to stay at an Airbnb or at a friend’s house? How about flying coach instead of business class? The vast majority of employees optimize for comfort and convenience, spending at the high end of their company policy limits, because, well, why not? So how can a company get its employees to care about expenses without implementing draconian policies, creating friction and frustrating employees? How can a company motivate its employees to save?
The answer is Rocketrip. We’re a NYC-based startup that rewards business travelers for cost-sensitive behavior. It’s a win-win: companies save, while employees cash in with real rewards.
The Role:
We’re looking for generalist UX designer with experience across the spectrum, to take a project from concept to release. Our ideal candidate is well versed in research, wireframing, prototyping, visual design and interaction design. But if you’re a little light in one area and have a particular super power, that’s cool, too.
You’ll work with Rocketrippers from Product Managers, Developers, Designers and Behavioral Economists to contribute to the product strategy and turn concept into reality. This is a great opportunity to flex those creative muscles and do things the way you see fit.
Responsibilities- Research user behavior to develop the next big idea
- Prototype concepts quickly and test them with real users
- Design experiences that motivate people to make better decisions
- Design data visualizations to make complicated ideas easy
- Participate in and lead Design Sprints
- Help build a great UX Team in a company eager to embrace new ideas
- At least 2 years experience in a product design role, start up experience is a plus
- A practitioner of agile and lean project management methodologies
- Prior experience in conducting user research, wire-framing and prototyping
- Strong visual design skills and experience in designing for both mobile and web
