Product Marketing Intern (Summer 2017)
Mic is a diverse news and media company for young people. Our mission is to inform, inspire, and empower our generation to make change happen. Each month, more than 65 million young people rely on Mic to make sense of the world.
Our Product Marketing Intern will work across Mic newsletters, mobile apps, and audio products. They will be responsible for creating content, coming up with content pitches, and contributing to the growth of these products. This intern will work cross-functionally with product and editorial, and will report directly to Mic’s Engagement Editor.
This is a paid full-time summer internship based in New York City. We expect interns to work 40 hours a week for the duration of the program (June 5, 2017 - August 11, 2017). Interns are responsible for arranging their own housing and transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Create content for newsletters, Mic’s native app, and various audio products
- Own weekly newsletter and app reports (ie open rates, click through rates, daily active subscribers, total subscribers)
- Design graphics for above mentioned products
- Attend daily meetings to brainstorm story ideas for these platforms
Qualifications:
- Email service provider experience ie Mailchimp, Sailthru, etc
- Knowledge of AP style, or formal journalism training
- Social media internship experience a plus
