Program Manager, Finance Systems

The Yext Corporate Engineering department uses software engineering to provide the workflow support, customer billing experience, and corporate analytics needed to make our company run. Program Managers for corporate engineering serve as the interface between the business and the engineering teams. They meet with business stakeholders at all levels, gather requirements, evaluate and prioritize requests, design enhancements, and manage the launch of new functionality into the business.
The Program Manager, Finance Systems is responsible for planning, prioritization, design, and rollout of changes to all finance-related systems, including billing, accounting, procurement, expense management, revenue recognition, and payroll. Candidates should have extensive experience with financial software and processes, and should have skill in and passion for designing solutions that combine third-party and custom software to support financial operations.
- Interview stakeholders of all levels throughout finance (Accounting, Billing, FP&A, Audit, etc.) to understand their needs, pain points, and requests for changes in finance systems
- Maintain a prioritized backlog of finance system projects/changes, driving prioritization at triage meetings, and communicating backlogs and schedules to stakeholders
- Design changes to our finance business systems, including configuration changes and code changes in SaaS systems, changes to integrations between systems, and software changes to in-house systems. Communicate designs changes orally, through diagrams, and through clear specifications.
- Perform user acceptance testing on new and changed functionality, filing bugs and driving software to a point where it can be released
- Coordinate rollout of changes to systems, including launch sequencing, training, email notifications, internal resources, and enabling the functionality
- Triage escalated issue reports from users, responding with workarounds and/or specifying fixes to be carried out by engineering
- Build and maintain internal resources for users of systems, including overview documentation, training documents and videos, and knowledge bases of common issues
- Evaluate proposed new systems for implementation, driving the process of deciding whether to buy a system at all, selecting a vendor, and implementing the new system
- Maintain a working understanding of all of Yext’s business systems, including both third-party and in-house systems, and how they interact, plus an in-depth understanding of all financial systems
- Maintain a working understanding of the central Yext business processes including quote-to-cash, billing and collections, financial reporting, recruiting, on-boarding/off-boarding, and lead generation, plus an in-depth understanding of the processes in the finance team
- Strong grasp of concepts and processes in accounting and finance (billing, payments and A/R, general ledger, revenue recognition, planning and budgeting, financial reporting, audit)
- Strong grasp of B2B SaaS software and how it’s configured and deployed to support business processes, including some hands-on skill in working with and configuring financial products like NetSuite, Zuora, Anaplan, etc.
- Strong project management skills
- Flexible, fast learner who thrives in a constantly-changing work environment
- Ability to work productively in teams with people from many disciplines, including sales, operations, finance, legal, engineering, and IT
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Sound judgement for driving prioritizations decisions based on business impact
- At least 8 years of work experience, including substantial experience working with corporate financial processes and substantial IT experience
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or finance or a related field, or equivalent work experience
